Candidates with a demonstrated record of building strong carrier relationships and thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, and who are ready to achieve strong earning potential as part of a growing team, are encouraged to apply.

We Are Looking For:

  • Drayage market expertise – Deep knowledge of port operations, steamship lines, rail ramps, and chassis pools.
  • Negotiation instincts – Ability to secure competitive capacity rates while maintaining healthy margins.
  • Urgency and resilience – A fast-paced problem solver who can successfully navigate tight port windows.
  • Network-building mindset – Proven ability to convert transactional carriers into dedicated lane partners.
  • Metric-driven focus – Drive to hit weekly goals for load counts, booking margins, and carrier onboarding.

What You Will Do:

  • Grow the carrier network – Source and onboard new drayage carriers to expand capacity across key port and rail regions.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing – Secure spot rates and contract pricing with owner-operators and fleet dispatchers.
  • Secure specialized capacity– Cover container moves including overweight loads and hazardous materials.
  • Manage booking pipelines – Ensure all customer ocean and rail container imports/exports are covered daily.
  • Support account management – Collaborate with account managers to provide real-time drayage market pricing and capacity updates.
  • Track market trends – Monitor port congestion, chassis availability, and driver capacity constraints.
  • Build carrier partnerships – Establish relationships that ensure priority booking during peak shipping seasons.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of carrier sales or capacity procurement experience – Required, with a proven track record in logistics.
  • Direct drayage experience – Experience with drayage and specialized freight (cross-border, intermodal, port cargo) required.
  • Established carrier network– An existing network of drayage carrier relationships is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency – English and Spanish preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills– Ability to close deals quickly across phone, text, and email.
  • Carrier vetting and fraud prevention expertise – Thorough, hands-on experience vetting carriers and avoiding cargo theft and fraud using platforms like Highway, Carrier411, and FMCSA.
