Pricing & Procurement Manager

This role is intended for a specialist with deep pricing and rate discipline rather than a generalist, someone who will decide what the company charges and protect margin integrity across the book of business. Candidates with a demonstrated record of pricing discipline, rate accuracy under pressure, and a track record of enforcing strategy over shortcuts are encouraged to apply.

White Star Logistics is growing rapidly and remains committed to sustained expansion. As part of this growth, the organization has set a milestone of delivering 1,000,000 loads. Achieving this goal requires a Pricing & Procurement Manager capable of owning the pricing logic and profitability discipline that will allow the organization to scale accordingly. This position carries significant analytical and strategic responsibility: setting pricing strategy by lane, customer, and mode, leading RFQ and RFP management, establishing margin targets and floor enforcement, and maintaining market intelligence on rates, fuel, seasonality, and capacity.

We Are Looking For:

  • Pricing discipline – Proven experience owning pricing strategy and margin targets within freight brokerage or logistics.
  • Speed and accuracy under pressure – A demonstrated ability to turn around competitive, accurate rates quickly without sacrificing margin integrity.
  • Market intelligence instincts – Ability to track and interpret rate trends, fuel costs, seasonality, and capacity shifts to inform pricing decisions.
  • Analytical rigor – Experience analyzing customer and lane profitability, and identifying margin leakage before it compounds.
  • Process and tool builder – Experience building or refining rate sheets, pricing calculators, and pricing guidelines.
  • Strategy-first mindset – A demonstrated focus on following and enforcing pricing strategy rather than conceding to exceptions.
  • Own pricing strategy – Set and maintain pricing logic by lane, customer, and mode.
  • Lead RFQ / RFP management – Serve as the primary owner of quote and proposal responses for target accounts.
  • Set and enforce margin targets – Establish margin floors and approve exceptions within defined guardrails.
  • Maintain spot pricing guidelines – Provide clear, current guidance for spot quotes and review exception requests.
  • Track market intelligence – Monitor rates, fuel, seasonality, and capacity trends to keep pricing current and competitive.
  • Benchmark carrier costs – Partner with Carrier Sales to validate cost assumptions behind every quote.
  • Analyze profitability – Conduct customer and lane-level profitability analysis to guide pricing decisions.
  • Build pricing tools – Develop and maintain rate sheets, calculators, and AI-assisted pricing prompts.
  • Audit for leakage – Monitor margin performance and correct pricing leakage before it affects results.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an analyst role and/or a pricing function is required.

  • SLA-driven accuracy – Ability to analyze pricing data and submit bids within defined SLA timelines.
  • High-volume quoting discipline – Ability to maintain accuracy standards in high-volume quoting environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound business judgment under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Technology-forward thinking – Ability to understand business process requirements and conceptualize creative, technology-enabled solutions to implement them.
  • Data extraction experience – Experience performing data extraction utilizing relevant tools and platforms.

Deadline-driven productivity – Must be able to work to deadlines and sustain high productivity levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, brokerage, pricing, or analytical roles.
  • Familiarity with freight platforms such as Trucker Tools or DAT.
