Nights Transportation Assistant

This position carries significant coordination and compliance responsibility: preparing and auditing cross-border documentation, dispatching loads with consistency, and serving as the go-to connection between carriers, customers, and internal teams overnight. This role is intended for a motivated, detail-driven transportation professional, someone who will help protect the carrier network and compliance standing necessary for the company’s next phase of growth.

White Star Logistics is growing rapidly and remains committed to sustained expansion. As part of this growth, the organization has set a milestone of delivering 1,000,000 loads. Achieving this goal requires a Nights Transportation Assistant capable of coordinating cross-border freight and maintaining the carrier capacity and documentation accuracy needed to scale accordingly.

We Are Looking For:

  •     3 years of freight brokerage experience – Candidates know cross-border freight operations thoroughly and bring a proven track record.
  • Bilingual fluency – Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
  • Documentation expertise – Hands-on knowledge of Carta Porte, DODA, and related customs documents.
  • Multitasking skills – Thrives when managing multiple active loads and exceptions in a fast-paced environment.
  • TMS platform experience – Comfortable maintaining accurate, audit-ready shipment records.
  • Strong communicator – Clear, confident, and able to build trusted carrier relationships.
  • Independent operator – Comfortable owning the overnight shift with no one else online.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate and dispatch loads – Intra-U.S. and cross-border, including drayage, transloads, and door-to-door moves, with sound carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and load coverage.
  • Prepare and audit documentation – BOLs, Carta Porte, DODA, Commercial Invoices, and customs entries, catching issues before they become a customs hold.
  • Manage overnight exceptions – Serve as the overnight point of contact for internal teams, carriers, and clients, managing detentions, delays, and escalations with confidence.
  • Build and protect carrier capacity – Maintain trusted carrier relationships to protect coverage during peak or disrupted lanes.
  • Maintain TMS records – Keep shipment records accurate, current, and audit-ready.
  • Track U.S. domestic freight – Monitor and communicate shipment status across U.S. domestic freight alongside cross-border loads.

Qualifications:

  •     3 years of 3PL brokerage experience – Required, with a proven track record in the industry.
  • Bilingual fluency – Ability to communicate in English and Spanish via phone and written documentation.
  • Cross-border documentation expertise – Carta Porte, DODA, and related customs entries.
  • Strong work ethic – Drive and focus to own the shift independently overnight.
  • TMS platform experience – Prior hands-on use of a transportation management system preferred.
  • Freight mode experience – FTL, intermodal, or drayage preferred.
