Overnight Senior Transportation Assistant

Remote (Europe-based)  |  Independent Contractor  |  Overnight, US hours 11pm EST – 8am EST

This position carries significant coordination and compliance responsibility: dispatching and tracking loads, auditing cross-border documentation, and serving as the senior point of contact for carriers, clients, and our Air Freight Carrier Sales and Revenue teams during the deepest overnight hours. This role is intended for an experienced, detail-driven transportation professional ready to operate with full autonomy, someone who will help protect the carrier network, documentation accuracy, and client relationships necessary for the company’s next phase of growth.

Candidates with a demonstrated record of managing freight dispatch and documentation independently overnight, and who are ready to become the senior hand our teams rely on after the Nights Transportation shift ends, are encouraged to apply.

We Are Looking For:

• Senior dispatch experience – Proven track record owning dispatch and carrier coordination independently, ideally in a senior or lead capacity
• Cross-border documentation expertise – Hands-on knowledge of Carta Porte, DODA, BOLs, and related customs documentation
• Bilingual fluency – Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbal and written
• Cross-team coverage mindset – Comfortable being the senior point of contact for Carrier Sales, Revenue, and Transportation once those teams have gone home for the day
• High-energy, independent operator – Comfortable owning the deepest overnight hours with no one else online, exercising sound judgment without a supervisor immediately available
• Multitasking skills – Thrives when managing multiple active loads, carriers, and exceptions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communicator – Clear, confident, and able to build trusted carrier relationships via phone, email, and chat
• Carrier vetting instincts – Comfortable vetting carriers to guard against fraud and cargo theft using deep industry knowledge

What You Will Do:

• Extend overnight transportation coverage – Pick up dispatch, tracking, and carrier coordination once the Nights Transportation shift ends, carrying loads through the deepest overnight hours
• Coordinate and dispatch loads– Intra-U.S. and cross-border, including drayage, transloads, and door-to-door moves, with sound carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and load coverage
• Prepare and audit documentation – BOLs, Carta Porte, DODA, Commercial Invoices, and customs entries, catching issues before they become a customs hold
• Manage overnight exceptions – Serve as the senior overnight point of contact for carriers, clients, and internal teams, managing detentions, delays, and escalations with confidence
• Support the Carrier Sales pipeline – Log carrier inquiries and capacity offers overnight for the Air Freight Carrier Sales team to follow up on
• Protect continuity for Revenue and sales activity – Capture and route any inbound sales or client activity that comes in after hours, so no lead or client touchpoint is lost overnight
• Maintain TMS records – Keep shipment records accurate, current, and audit-ready
• Hand off cleanly across shifts– Provide clear, complete notes at the end of each shift so operations continue smoothly into the next coverage window

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of freight brokerage or dispatch experience, cross-border preferred – Required, with a proven track record in the industry
• Bilingual fluency – Required — ability to communicate in English and Spanish via phone and written documentation
• Cross-border documentation expertise – Carta Porte, DODA, and related customs entries
• TMS platform experience – Prior hands-on use of a transportation management system required
• Load board platform experience – Familiarity with DAT and Truckstop preferred
• Carrier vetting experience – Familiarity with Carrier411 and Highway to vet carriers preferred
• Reliable remote work setup based in Europe – Required, to support a fully remote overnight schedule covering US hours
• Proven ability to work independently overnight – Required, without a supervisor actively available
